Sapphire Blue Peacock Pumps!

Oh yes.  The new towering sapphire blue peacock pumps have landed.  These little guys (and by little, I mean 5 inch heel with a 1 1/4 inch platform...) are freshly listed in my shop, and would be a perfect addition to a wedding for a bride's something blue..

(and yes, I know.  I am blindingly white.  Perhaps, I should have had the other girls wear these...)

We Raised $1200 for Cancer Research!

La Plume Ethere raised and donated $1200 for the American Cancer Society in 2010!

Thanks SO much to our customers who made this donation possible!

La Plume Ethere donates 10% of all sales to The American Cancer Society.  When I began creating and selling items, I did so around the holiday season of 2009.  This was my first holiday season after having lost my mother to lung cancer.

To keep myself busy during this time, I began crafting.  My mom was an avid crafter.  She hand made every halloween costume and taught me to sew.  She created hundreds of Christmas ornaments (which the first year without her our new kitten attacked...).  And, every single doorway was adorned with some form of decorative wreath hand crafted by my mom.  So, what else was there to do while trying to remember her positively but craft!

I soon discovered what I loved to do best was to work with feathers.  Their texture--so soft and fluffy--if so much fun to work with.  What I loved even more, as I soon found out, was working with brides and creating something special for their wedding.  Each bouquet, fascinator, boutonniere, or other La Plume Ethere creation ends up a part of a very special time in someone's life.

My shop has allowed me to do something I love and remember someone I love.  Creating unique one of a kind pieces that help to make someone's special day even more special and fundraising for cancer research have both given me so much joy--so thanks to all of my wonderful customers!

Me, my mom, and my sister :)
Obviously... I will never be this small again.  Or this cheekly.

Ruffled Blog!

I have had a very unhealthy obsession with Ruffled Blog ... the BEST vintage-inspired wedding blog around.  For months leading up to my wedding I spent countless hours gazing at the amazing wedding, DIY projects, and way too awesome to be real brides.  Seriously... check it out if you are in the wedding market, are in the market to HAVE a wedding, or need a great way to lose all of your time.

I am now one of their "Blue Label" vendors!  And awesome section in their blog is devoted to preferred vendors, and I now have a page!  soooo excited to be a part of this blog... http://ruffledblog.com/blue-label/vendor-profile/la-plume-ethere/
